The meaning and function of PH value in water

What is the meaning of PH in water?

PH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of water. It can be calculated according to the hydrogen ion concentration and the corresponding calculation formula. PH value is a routine and important water quality monitoring parameter. The acidity or alkalinity of water can be detected and determined by water PH sensor. The hydrogen ion concentration index is the ratio of the total number of hydrogen ions to the total number of substances in a solution. Its value is colloquially known as “pH”. A number used to indicate how acidic or alkaline a solution is. The negative value of the usual logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration is the PH value.

PH value in water quality parameters:

PH value is one of the conventional and most important water quality parameters of aqueous solution. Some natural phenomena, chemical changes and production processes involving aqueous solution are related to pH value. Therefore, in industry, agriculture, medicine, environmental protection, breeding and scientific research and other fields need to measure pH value. PH value can be monitored by water PH sensor or water PH detector.

PH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of water. It can be calculated according to the hydrogen ion concentration and the corresponding calculation formula. Represented by:

pH=-lg[H+]

The pH value is sometimes called the hydrogen ion index because the number of hydrogen ion activity tends to be very, very small. It’s not easy to use in applications, so I’ll just use pH. Fuzzy estimates can be made using pH strips.

PH value can be used as an indicator of whether an aqueous solution is acidic or alkaline. And the negative log of hydrogen ion activity can indicate the magnitude of the acidity or alkalinity variation. In this way, it is relatively simple to apply again, and the indexes obtained are as follows (at 25℃) :

⑴ Neutral aqueous solution, pH=7

(2) Acidic aqueous solution, pH<7, the lower the pH value, the more acidic;

(3) Alkaline aqueous solution, pH>7, the higher the pH value, the more alkaline.

water PH sensor

Water PH sensor introduction:

The water PH sensor developed by JINGxun unimpeded is a multi-functional water quality testing equipment. The probe is composed of PH glass electrode and silver chloride reference electrode. Signal stability, high precision. It has the characteristics of wide measuring range, good linear shape, good waterproof performance, easy to use, easy to install, long transmission distance and so on. Can be widely used in thermal power, chemical fertilizer, metallurgy, environmental protection, pharmaceutical, biochemical, food and tap water solution PH value and temperature continuous monitoring
